Gluren bij de Buren ('Peeking in on the neighbours') is a concept borrowed from the Netherlands. A local community of like-minded people open their houses for an afternoon of performances - music, story-telling, comedy sketches.

Jon and Emmy from The Cheese House (with the help of many willing volunteers) brought this idea to life in Cromarty - once a year in October, when there wasn't much else going on. They felt the town was perfectly situated for a small-scale arts festival of this kind. And there was a lot of local talent to tap into.
